Nicolas Jim Nadolny studied law at Humboldt University in Berlin. He completed his specialization as a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at La Sapienza University in Rome. He then earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at King's College London, where he focused on comparative law issues in international and European media law.
After passing his first state examination, Nicolas Jim Nadolny worked as a research assistant at a large German commercial law firm specializing in press and copyright law. His legal clerkship also took him to the 2nd Civil Chamber of the Potsdam Regional Court, which is responsible for press matters, and to the press office of the Federal Ministry of Justice.
In addition to his legal expertise, Nicolas Jim Nadolny has extensive journalistic experience. Before completing his legal clerkship and joining the bar, he worked as an editor for various leading political programs on public and private television.
Nicolas Jim Nadolny has been working as a lawyer at Schertz Bergmann since the beginning of 2023 and has been a salary partner at the firm since January 2026. He specializes in press and personal rights as well as reputation protection and represents institutions and individuals, particularly from the arts and culture, politics, and business sectors. He advises numerous companies on strategic legal communication as well as in all acute conflict situations arising from negative reporting. Another focus of his work is providing press law support in criminal investigations and court proceedings. In this context, he regularly collaborates with leading (commercial) criminal law firms and is the contact person for all press and media law issues.
