Helge Reich studied law at the University of Hamburg. After passing his first state examination, he spent a year at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, where he completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. He completed his legal clerkship in Hamburg and Berlin. There, he worked in the legal department of a large German magazine publisher, a public broadcaster, the press chamber of the Hamburg Regional Court, and a law firm specializing in copyright and competition law.
Helge Reich has been working at the law firm Schertz Bergmann since 2006, where he primarily focuses on press and freedom of expression law. He also specializes in information rights and is a certified specialist in copyright and media law. Helge Reich has been a partner at the firm since 2010. He advises renowned companies, ministries, associations, organizations, and individuals.
