Kerstin Schmitt

Kerstin Schmitt studied law, communication science and philosophy at the University of Muenster, Germany. After finishing her legal clerkship she was research assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Media Law at the University of Dresden. From 2003-2008 she coordinated the LL.M. program "International Studies in Intellectual Property Law" and lectured with a focus on press and media law. She is currently completing her doctoral thesis on personality rights.

In 2006 she was lecturer in German Law at the University of Exeter, England, and coordinated the LL.B. European (German)/Magister Programme.

Kerstin Schmitt joined Schertz Bergmann in 2008. She has particular expertise in press, media and copyright law. Kerstin Schmitt is a visiting lecturer and external academic member of the Research Group on New Media at the Technische Universität Dresden as well as a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law (Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht, GRUR).
