Simon Bergmann
Simon Bergmann studied law at the Freie Universität
Berlin. After the Second State Exam, he worked for the legal department
of Deutsche Welle and was afterwards executive director of a well-known
German sports club.
Since 1994 Simon Bergmann has mainly been active as a lawyer in the
areas of intellectual property rights (especially copyright, trade mark
and unfair competition law), media law (particularly film and media
labour law) and sports law, last as partner of the law firm Hertin.
2005 foundation of his own law firm Schertz Bergmann together with Prof.
Dr. Christian Schertz.
Since 2001 lecturer for media law at the
Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Simon
Bergmann is a member of the German Association for Intellectual Property
and Copyright Law (Deutsche Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz
und Urheberrecht,
GRUR) as well as of the International Sport
Lawyers Association (ISLA),
the German Association for Sports Law (Deutsche Vereinigung für Sportrecht,
DVSR)
and the
German Court of
Arbitration for Sports (Deutsches Sportschiedsgericht).
